Pádraig Egan

Dr Pádraig Egan qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, UK, in 2007. His career has seen him treat a multitude of species over the years from cows to wallabies! Currently working for Fitzpatrick Referrals (founded by "The Supervet", Dr Noel Fitzpatrick in 2005), Dr Egan has developed a speciality in small animal surgery. He shares his home with a cat called Bumper and two sausage dogs called Obi and Han.

The loudest purr by a domestic cat is 67.8 db(A) and was achieved by Merlin, owned by Tracy Westwood (UK) at her home in Torquay, Devon, UK, on 2 Apr 2015. Tracy said: “Occasionally when he’s really loud, I have to repeat myself. When you’re watching films you have to turn the telly up or put him out of the room...  I can hear him when I’m drying my hair."
