Explorer completes full marathon runs in ALL Australian states in under a week
Louis Alexander (UK) is now a three-time Guinness World Records title holder!
The runner and adventurer broke the title fastest time to run a marathon distance in all Australian state and territorial capitals (male), completing the amazing feat in just 6 days 23 hr 40 mins.
This meant undertaking consecutive marathons in all eight Australian capital cities and each one being a minimum of 42.2 km (26.2 miles) long.

Louis is known for going the distance and using his platform to fundraise for charities near and dear to his heart.
In fact, the idea of undertaking this new mission was back in 2024, when he was completing his Seven Continents Project, which bagged him his first title for the first person to run a marathon distance on seven continents and swim a staged marathon in classical seven seas.
He also did it in record speed claiming the fastest time to run a marathon distance on seven continents and swim a staged marathon in classical seven seas.
Looking at the extraordinary scenery around him in Australia, Louis knew he wanted to one day return to the country.

In preparation for the attempt, Louis trained over 10 hours a week stressing recovery time was just as important.
He heavily leaned into using saunas, ice baths and mobility work at home to care for his muscles.
“There were no set routes for each marathon”, Louis confessed which gave him the freedom to explore and run in any direction he wished.

Each morning, he left his hotel with a bag of drinks, snacks and a change of socks and would return after every 5 km (3.1 miles), using around eight pit stops total for each marathon.
Giving him enough time to replenish and continue with his runs, he made it a tradition to have a steak pie from the local petrol stations every day.

According to Louis, the only down time he had was on his flight every evening, where he says he had two priorities; eat and sleep!
From the busy cities such as Sydney and Perth to the more peaceful, quiet city of Canberra, each marathon was a unique experience for him.
Even faced with extreme heat and foot blisters, Louis never gave up and sought to stay on track and complete his runs.

Once again, he completed the marathon runs to raise money for charity Dementia Australia supporting people living with Alzheimer's.
Louis is the official advocate for Race Against Dementia and his end goal is to raise £1 million for charity.
He admitted he wanted to break 10 Guinness World Records titles in the process, we wish him all the luck!
I'm beyond grateful to receive my third Guinness World Records title. A recognition I share with my whole team and Headline Sponsor Cinnamon Care Collection, because I credit so much to them. Since receiving my first GWR title, I have received messages and support from around the world. It's both humbled and inspired me. So all I can say is, thank you. The support is never taken for granted. - Louis Alexander
