Rohtash Chaudhary, known as the “Push-up Man of India” continues to live up to his name.

The 41-year-old successfully set a record for the most push ups in one hour with a 60 lb pack.

He performed an astonishing 847 push ups, with a 60 lb pack (27.21kg) strapped to his back at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi.

This bested the previous record held by Sami Jomah Hassan (Syria) back in 2023.

For Rohtash, his fitness journey has been a personal one, after a major traffic accident left him unable to move his body for nearly two years.

He always enjoyed physical training and rediscovered the joy of building his body during his rehabilitation process.

Since then, he began attempting several world record titles, with this year marking his 10th anniversary as a continuous record breaker.

Today, Rohtash continues to train daily without fail, constantly striving to push his limits further.

His biggest motivator is to share the joy and importance of physical fitness with the younger generation.

To support this passion, he is an ambassador for the Fit India Movement, a government initiative aimed at getting the public more active.

Leading up to his official attempt, Rohtash followed a strict regime of early mornings performing multiple push-ups sets with weighted variations.

This included keeping up with a high protein diet and mental conditioning to support his endurance.

On the day, Rohtash recalls his biggest challenge was maintaining consistency under extreme weight and fatigue.

This exhaustion was drowned out by the many local students who came to watch and cheer him on, showing just how much of an inspiration he is.

Among the spectators, was the Union Minister for Youth Affairs & Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya.

Once the hour was up, Rohtash felt a mix of relief, pride and gratitude knowing his sacrifices and discipline finally paid off.
