Google Cloud Brazil hosts largest hybrid AI lesson ever with over 1,000 participants
Through screens and in amphitheater seats, Google Cloud gathered together a mass of participants from across Latin America last month to take part in a record-breaking artificial intelligence (AI) lesson, furthering their mission to increase digital literacy in our technology-driven future.

As part of the organization’s mission to upskill the workforce of the future and train one million people in Brazil and in Mexico in cloud and AI technologies, Google Cloud (Brazil) hosted the massive educational event in São Paulo, Brazil on 6 December, which broke the Guinness World Records title for the most people taking an artificial intelligence lesson online and in multiple venues simultaneously.

With a goal of engaging professionals and younger audiences from a wide range of academic fields – particularly those without a tech background or keen interest in technology – the organization deliberately sought to showcase how Gemini and Google Cloud's AI capabilities are relevant and beneficial for various career paths, and introduce them to the varied ecosystem.
A grand total of 1,409 enthusiastic attendees showed up to the meeting online and in-person at the Anhembi auditorium, and the class even included Libras (Brazilian sign language) interpretation, allowing participants with hearing impairments to follow the entire session.
Google Cloud's attempt to break the Guinness World Record was part of Capacita+: Learn AI with Google Cloud. Capacita+ was a broad training initiative aimed to reach +200.000 people across.

10 Latin American countries: Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, and El Salvador. It was developed in partnership with 50 universities which invited their students, and broadcasted online massively.

“We know that investing in digital skills is essential for Latin America to harness the full potential of AI, which is rapidly transforming the job market,” said Eduardo López, President of Google Cloud in Latin America.
“Organizations and economies in the region need to be prepared, and training is not just an option, but a necessity to drive growth and competitiveness.”

On the day of the event, entry at all locations was strictly controlled to ensure that only registered participants were admitted and present before the class began, and Guinness World Records Adjudicator Natalia Ramirez was present to monitor all the proceedings.

The lesson began at 10:46 a.m., and featured presentations that showed how to use AI in personal and professional life – such as for making engaging content, researching and planning, and organizing your thoughts and ideas.

Afterwards, attendees immediately completed a mandatory test using a QR code to validate their engagement in the full lesson, while Guinness World Records confirmed the total number of active learners.

However, it didn’t take long for the expectant crowd to be rewarded for their participation in the day’s lesson, as Adjudicator Natalia took to the stage and announced that they had claimed the record!

“This attempt stood out for its high level of organization and the active engagement of all participants,” she said. “The lesson delivered important and relevant information on a topic that is shaping the future of work.
“Witnessing so many individuals united in the same educational purpose, across multiple venues and online platforms, was truly inspiring and demonstrated the real impact of accessible technological training.”

So congratulations to everyone who took part in this incredible event – you are all Officially Amazing!
