For GE Vernova (USA), the holidays came early as they kicked off the season with the largest online toy drive in 24 hours.

Their record-breaking attempt, dubbed the ‘Innovators Toy Drive’, held in partnership with Toys for Tots and Save the Children, collected more than 23,385 toys from participants around the world.

GE Vernova is a global energy technology company focused on electrifying and decarbonizing the world.

The event took place entirely online, with visitors to a dedicated page on their website encouraged to donate their toys.

The drive was centred on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and people were asked to donate toys that would fit the theme and help children learn.

This was to show how toys can help children in their early years learn how to solve problems and spark curiosity.

Each toy was chosen to encourage problem-solving, discovery, and innovation, reflecting GE Vernova’s focus on empowering the next generation of engineers, scientists, and inventors.

The record was announced live on NBC’s TODAY as part of a sponsored segment on the science behind play.

As part of its commitment to giving, and STEM education, the GE Vernova Foundation will match all toy donations raised through the Innovators Toy Drive and donated to Save the Children.

In addition, donations from Hasbro and Mattel, mean that a total of over 70K toys will be going to kids around the world.

The accomplishment was further celebrated in an Innovators Toy Land event in Manhattan, which was open to the public.

The pop-up featured a collection of hands-on exhibits, turning scientific concepts into fun, interactive learning moments.

At the event, Guinness World Records Adjudicator Andrew Glass presented the certificate to GE Vernova’s CEO Scott Strazik.

We are proud to give back and spark curiosity and creativity in kids around the world through this record-breaking STEM toy drive. Inspiring and growing the next generation of leaders is critical to tackling the world’s toughest challenges and delivering the breakthrough innovations that will help us shape the future of energy. - Scott Strazik, GE Vernova CEO
