You’ve probably gone to see a fireworks show on New Year’s Eve, but have you ever been to a show where drones launch the fireworks?

Pyroemotions Ltd (Malta) launched 3,865 in Lusail, Qatar, on 1 January 2025 claiming the record for most fireworks launched by multirotors/drones in an aerial display

This is a new record title with a minimum to beat of 3,204.

Pyroemotions have been in the fireworks and multimedia event space for over a decade.

The record attempt came together in just three weeks with the goal of creating a special display of light drones and fireworks.

The massive display consisted of 500 drones synchronised to form various shapes and designs with multicoloured lights.

Making it an international effort, the drones were in Qatar already, having been used for previous light shows, and fireworks were sourced in Italy.

The event took place at Lusail Boulevard, a prominent landmark for events in Qatar.

Each drone had single-shot fireworks loaded onto it and was controlled by a special radio firing system.

The display lasted 10 minutes, creating spectacular images of a spiral, cylinder and most importantly the Lusail City symbol.

Once the display was over, Official Adjudicator Prav Patel watched the recorded show back to make sure the fireworks were set off correctly.

With the final record-breaking number confirmed, the Guinness World Records certificate was awarded.

It was reported that the display was attended by tens of thousands of New Year revellers.

A big congratulations to the team at Pyroemotions and everyone involved!
