Guinness World Records has long been committed to delivering innovative employee engagement campaigns with an audience-first approach.
So there was excitement when major international cruise line company Carnival UK, whose brands include well-known P&O Cruises and Cunard, approached - resulting in an idea that would be a real community effort for its team.
Staff Engagement team worked closely with Carnival UK staff to plan logistics, as well as using the record consultancy service, to ensure the day represented their vision as much as possible.
Carnival UK’s team went on to attempt four records on Wednesday 16 May, setting three new Guinness World Records titles in a memorable day.
The records included Most hats thrown onto a hat stand in 30 seconds, Most pillows covered in one minute, and the Longest line of postcards.
One event, the Longest line of postcards, involved not only staff who were at the event, but also those working overseas with postcards sent in from cruise ships around the world.
Each record was designed to reflect the skills and values of the company's workforce.
The event was held to launch Carnival UK's new company values internally, whilst also kicking off its Summer of Happiness programme.
Winners will be announced at the C&IT Awards ceremony on Friday 21 September.
Until then, fingers crossed!
