There was a lot of love in the air in Singapore on Mother's Day as hundreds of people came together to create the world’s Longest chain of paper hearts.

The Guinness World Records attempt was organised by social welfare organisation Jamiyah Singapore, in celebration of their 85th anniversary and their 25th Exemplary Mother Award ceremony.

The record formed part of a two day carnival which was open to members of the public.

Hundreds of people came along to the event to decorate a paper heart and write a personalised message to their mothers - and become Guinness World Records title holders in the process.

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Joanne Brent was invited along to certify the achievement and announced that the chain measured an incredible 951.18 metres long.

Mr Mohd Yunos Mohd Shariff, Vice President 2 of Jamiyah said:
Jamiyah Singapore is celebrating its 85th Anniversary and we would like to celebrate and share our joy with the community. We have chosen special activities to commemorate this momentous occasion – something that we and the community can remember for a lifetime. It will be our first time ever to host a Motorcade & Walk-A-Jog and to attempt a record in the Guinness World Records.
