Employees from Majid Al Futtaim - a company which owns a variety of shopping malls, retail and leisure establishments in the Middle East and North Africa - recently took part in a record-breaking team-building event and created the Largest painted wooden block image.

Over 1,000 employees, along with their family and friends, spent four hours painting 930 wooden blocks to create a massive image of the Majid Al Futtaim logo at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Dubai.

Robert Welanetz, Chief Executive Office at Majid Al Futtaim - Properties said: “I continue to be extremely impressed by our people and their drive to live the company’s values of being bold, passionate and together … Once again they have shown their passion for achievement by joining together to break a world record and it’s a reminder of how much we can do as a group.”

Guinness World Records adjudicator Samer Khallouf was on hand to officiate the attempt and commented: “Initially, we challenged Majid Al Futtaim to break the Guinness World Records title for the most people to contribute to a painted wooden block mosaic. That record stood at 529 participants in Germany but the record was broken by 3,633 participants in Australia the day before the Majid Al Futtaim event. So we quickly changed the challenge and asked the Majid Al Futtaim family to break the record by the size of the final image. They created a painting seven times larger and in doing so showed their spirit of togetherness.”
