Hoping to end their ‘Turn on Spring with Tricolor TV’ marketing campaign on a high, Russian television provider Tricolor TV attempted to set a Guinness World Records title and successfully created the Longest line of birds nest boxes, covering an impressive 1.124 km (3,687 ft 7.88 in) in Moscow, Russia, earlier this month.

The line was made using 4,000 biodegradable birds nests, some of which were decorated with the branding of various TV channels and media.

Guinness World Records adjudicator Lena Kuhlmann was on hand to count and verify the record.

In the months leading up to this event, customers who purchased certain of Tricolor TV’s products were sent birds nest boxes. The first 10,000 people to install their birds nest and take a selfie with it received a six month viewing package for free.

Tricolor TV chose this particular record title to attempt because they wanted to draw attention to the declining population of small bird species living in the urban landscape and do something to help.
The event was held at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy as part of the environmental project ‘Let’s Help Birds Together!’

Following the attempt, TV channels and media representatives put up their branded birdhouses at the Tricolor TV Partner Alley which can be viewed by the public.
