GlaxoSmithKline launched their new Sensodyne’s Repair and Protect toothpaste range in spectacular style in New Zealand earlier this month with the unveiling of the world’s largest model tooth.

The giant replica molar measured a record-setting 9.15m (h) x 4.41m (w) - approximately 450 times the height of a regular human tooth.

Sensodyne largest model tooth 1The huge model was unveiled at Auckland’s Aotea Square public area, with a Guinness World Records adjudicator on hand to confirm that the molar had indeed beaten the previous record of 8.23 m x 3.57 m (27.02 ft x 11.71 ft), set in Mexico in 2013.

Sensodyne largest model tooth 2There were plenty of smiles on show as hundreds of spectators gathered to have their photo taken with the super-sized tooth in the Square following an official Guinness World Records certificate presentation.

“The event has been exactly how we imagined, and we are extremely proud of what the Sensodyne Repair & Protect team has achieved, and even more so of the excitement around the range – it truly is a game changer in the oral care category”, says David Thomas, GSK spokesperson.
