Autism initiative sets new Largest Sticky Note Mosaic world record in Dubai

UAE government real estate organisation the Dubai Land Department last week set a new Guinness World Record™ title for Largest Sticky Note Mosaic as part of an initiative to raise awareness of autism.

The title attempt was part of the Together for a Better Future campaign which aimed to show solidarity with autistic children and supporting groups and associations.

Thousands of volunteers including government departments, schools, sports clubs and members of the public were involved in sticking the notes to the 300 2.8 metres by 97.5cm boards.

Fully assembled the mosaic displayed the autism awareness ribbon and Together for a Better Future slogan comprising of a record-breaking 300,000 notes which spanned an impressive 581.4m.

HE Sultan Butti Bin Mejren, Director General of Dubai Land Department explained, “The staff members at DLD showed an incredible level of dedication and commitment to this noble cause and have made every effort to ensure its success. Their hard work has highlighted the name of Dubai and showed the world our compassion and care for all sections of our society, he added."

With over 10,000 participants and coverage from Zawya and Emirates24/7 the campaign was very successful in drawing attention to the plight of autistic children in UAE.

Commenting on the value of success and the impressive display of the final mosaic, Head of DLD, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Maktoum said, “We have proved DLD’s capacity to undertake a Record breaking challenge that has raised awareness of those with autism in our society. Creative initiatives such as this show our responsibility to those in need and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed to the project’s success, our employees, partners and customers.”
