Guinness World Records (GWR) pitched up at Kidzania London last weekend (26-27 October) allowing kids to experience what it’s like to be an official adjudicator.

Over 500 kids (including the Mayor of KidZania!) took part in the brand-new Adjudicator Bootcamp.

They got the chance to meet Adjudicator Sophia and practised their timing and counting skills, all to see if they were worthy of sporting the blue blazer. In addition to their jacket, the kids received the essential adjudicator starter kit; a clipboard, stopwatch, tape measure and clicker.

Following the instruction sheets provided, the kids worked through four stations to learn and practice the skills of a GWR adjudicator, assisted by one of our GWR coaches. These tasks included measuring, counting, timing and weighing – all records included in the bootcamp were from the new Guinness World Records 2020 edition.

"The children were really engaged with the bootcamp, it would be great to work with GWR again in the future, " Rachel Woods, Head of brand development at Kidzania.

After completing the bootcamp, each participant received a Diploma of completion, a GWR medal, six kidZos (Kidzania’s currency) and a photo opportunity with our very own fizzing ball of energy, Ally Zing™!
