A Spanish motorsports star has added to his list of world records by pulling off a stunt at a spot named in his honour.

Toni Bou expertly hopped his motorcycle between barrels spaced out to form a ring around the roundabout in his hometown of Piera, Barcelona that was named after him.

His epic stunt on 3 June earned him the record for most consecutive barrels jumped on a motorcycle (rear wheel only) with a total of 53.

As a crowd cheered him on and Guinness World Records Adjudicator Anouk de Timary kept a close eye on him, the renowned motorcycle trials rider hopped his way round the course with nothing but the back wheel of his bike making contact.

Anouk said: “It was fascinating to witness the level of precision and control required for this record, each landing had to be executed with remarkable accuracy. And what made this achievement even more impressive was the setting.

“The record could have been considerably easier to attempt on a straight line of barrels placed on a perfectly flat surface. Instead, the team chose to stage the attempt at the iconic Toni Bou Roundabout in his hometown, where the barrels followed the circular shape of the roundabout and the terrain had a slight unevenness, which added an extra layer of difficulty to the attempt.”

It was nothing Toni couldn’t take in his stride though!
