Maths professor with mad football skills breaks his own record with cool trick

A maths professor is proving his football skills are just as impressive as his number knowledge after breaking his latest world record.

Agim Agushi (Kosovo) claimed the title for most T-shirts put on while controlling a football (soccer ball) with the head with a total of 17, beating his own record of 14.

The 56-year-old, who shares sons Çlirim and Enlir with wife Valdete, says there was a very specific reason behind that number.

He said: “This latest attempt was driven by a very specific goal. Putting on 17 T-shirts corresponds to 17 February, which is the Independence Day of my country, Kosovo.”

Agim, who works at a high school, says he put in a lot of training for this specific record, but that he always has other titles in mind too.

Right now, he also holds the records for:

• Most T-shirts removed while heading a football - 28
• Most times to put on and remove a T-shirt while controlling a football with the head - 164
• Longest time heading a football (soccer ball) between two people - 34 min 1 with Bujar Ajeti (Kosovo)

Explaining his process, Agim said: “I try many different methods and techniques repeatedly. I usually limit myself to the square metre space and often try different lighting and weather conditions as that may impact me during performance, especially if outdoors.

“Whichever one feels the most suitable, I practise that specific technique extensively. As a mathematician, I like to say we have the formula of combinations, which enables us to arrive at the easiest and most efficient solution!”

It took Agim just under four minutes to put on the 17 T-shirts he used to extend his record.

Agim, who is a huge football fan and supports Manchester United along with his sons, added: “After every Guinness World Records challenge, there are indescribable emotions and joy because you succeeded. It makes you feel that you are still strong and that you have the potential to achieve even more.”

He’s now planning to break even more records and hopes to stage his attempts at the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.
