Erling Haaland looks at his world records the way we all deserve to be looked at
With the latest Premier League season about to kick off, we left Erling Haaland grinning as we handed him a new batch of Guinness World Records certificates.
The iconic footballer looked extremely proud of his achievements. And he should be.
At the age of 26, the Manchester City striker is one of the most feared goal scorers in world football – and he’s got the records to prove it. Here he is with the four GWR certificates he was handed at the Etihad Stadium.

Haaland, who features on the cover of Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, earned his latest record on 2 December 2025, netting against Fulham to achieve the fastest time to score 100 goals in the football English Premier League – just 111 matches since his debut for Manchester City at the start of the 2022/23 season.
Haaland hit the ground running after his transfer from Borussia Dortmund, racking up the most goals by a football player in an English Premier League season (38 games) in his debut season in England. His total of 36 goals surpassed Mo Salah’s 32 for Liverpool in 2017/18. It also bettered Andy Cole and Alan Shearer’s shared record of 34 goals from 1993/94 and 1994/95 respectively, when there were 42 games in an EPL season.
UK-born Haaland earned his third title playing international football for Norway, racking up the most UEFA Nations League goals by a football (soccer) player.
He scored 19 times between 4 September 2020 and 17 November 2024, leaving him four clear of his nearest rival on the all-time list.
And finally, the player picked up his certificate for the most goals scored in a UEFA Champions League match.
Haaland put five past RB Leipzig on 14 March 2023 to equal the record shared by Lionel Messi and Luiz Adriano.

With no sign of Haaland’s appetite for goals drying up, it won’t be long before he has to clear some wall space to add more certificates to his impressive collection.
He was one of the breakout stars of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, capturing the hearts of football fans around the world during his time in the Norway shirt.
He gained around 24 million Instagram followers during the tournament thanks to his goofy personality, funny post-match interviews, and of course his abilities on the pitch.
Since heading back home with a stuffed raccoon under his arm, he's become a massive social media sensation.
