Personal trainer proves how strong women can be as she smashes iconic fitness record
A personal trainer who wanted to prove how strong women can be has smashed an iconic fitness record.
Elina Pashalanova (Bulgaria) achieved the most pull ups in one minute (female) with a total of 50, beating the previous record by five.
The 34-year-old, who is also a crossfit and weightlifting coach, said: “I wanted to challenge myself and show how strong a woman can be, to inspire and set an example for all the people I work with and for everyone who doubts themselves.”
And she certainly did that.

Within the space of around six weeks, Elina smashed not just this, but FOUR incredible fitness records.
She’s also claimed titles for the most two finger pull ups in one minute (female) with a total of 20, the most four finger pull ups in one minute (female) with 25, and the most pull ups in one minute with a 20 lb pack (female) with 32.

What a super woman!
“There is nothing impossible if you set your mind up to it, don't be afraid and put in the work,” she told us.

Of her training, she added: “I prepared for about a year, specifically with at least a 1,000 pull ups per week, done in different ways, depending on which part of the preparation it was.”

Elina was already a big fan of pull ups, with them being an established part of her fitness routine.
But she admits she had never upped her game as much as she did when she was preparing to take on her world records.
All the hard work paid off though and Elina achieved the exact number she’d aimed to get for her most pull ups in one minute (female) record.
This was the first record she set her sights on, but having already earned another three and with plans to break even more, who can say what’s next for Elina and her bulging biceps.
