Third basketball record won by “Three Point King” after sinking over 250 half-court shots
A talented basketball player from Standish, Maine, USA has crushed his third Guinness World Records title for the most basketball half-court shots made in one hour, after launching hundreds of successful attempts at the net in just 60 minutes.
Ryan Martin – a passionate sports fan who wants to be known as the “best shooter in the world” – made the attempt on 11 December last year, following his prior wins for the most basketball free throws in one hour and the most basketball three pointers in one hour.
Using the NBA’s official court measurements, he stood 47 ft (14.3 m) away from the hoop for the duration of the challenge – significantly further than when he accomplished his previous records.
Nevertheless, after throwing his entire body into each shot, Ryan was able to sink an impressive 272 shots within the timeframe, officially allowing the three-point king to take home the triple crown of basketball records!
Ryan, who played basketball in college and professionally in Canada, told CBS-13 WGME that he made a total of 828 shots during the entire attempt.
That comes out to roughly one shot every four seconds – and a successful basket every 12 seconds!

Now working as a teacher and a basketball coach, Ryan (who also goes by Dr Buckets on social media) officially started his record-breaking journey in 2025, after crushing an amazing total of 2,494 free throws in an hour to claim his first title.
He returned to the record books just a month later with the most basketball three pointers in one hour, when he successfully launched 1,086 shots into the net on 1 April.
Yet Ryan’s success on the court comes as no surprise to those who knew him in college – while at the University of Maine and Keene State College, he led the country in free throw percentage, as well as ranked top five in the nation in three-point shots.
So it sure sounds like this basketball star was meant to be a record-breaking shooter!
Congratulations on your incredible achievements, Ryan – you are Officially Amazing!
