PSG UEFA Champions League team holding trophy

Paris Saint-Germain are setting the standards in club football right now. Repeat French champions, back-to-back winners of the UEFA Champions League and holders of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup, they have taken on and beaten the best, while their swashbuckling style has won them fans far beyond the French capital. And with success comes GWR record titles… lots of them. Fresh from their 5–0 demolition of Villareal, the team received a total of 12 certificates celebrating their exploits in both French and European football.

First up was midfielder Desiré Doué, one of the cover stars of the new Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027 and a member of our Class of ’27, a list of world football’s brightest young record-breaking talents. In the 2025 UEFA Champions League final, Doué produced the most goal involvements by a player in a UEFA Champions League final, scoring twice and laying on an assist as PSG thrashed Inter Milan 5–0 – the highest margin of victory in a football (soccer) UEFA Champions League final.

Following their record-breaking final win, PSG came back even stronger in 2025/26, equalling Barcelona’s record from 1999/2000 for the most goals scored in a Champions League season (team) – 45. They went on to successfully defend their crown, beating Arsenal in the final after a dramatic penalty shootout. Flying winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia went on the rampage in the latter stages of the tournament, scoring or assisting in seven matches in a row – the most consecutive knockout matches with a goal involvement in a UEFA Champions League season. He finished the competition with a winner’s medal and the award for Player of the Season. Midfield metronome Vitinha completed the most passes by a football player in a UEFA Champions League season – 1,602.

Even as they climbed to the summit of European football, PSG have maintained their dominance at home. They claimed their 14th Ligue 1 title in 2025/26 – the most wins of the top division in French football (soccer). Club captain Marquinhos holds the record for the most football (soccer) Ligue 1 titles won by a player, having hoovered up 11 French championships in just 13 seasons since moving to Paris in 2013. Spanish midfielder Fabián Ruiz achieved the longest unbeaten streak in Ligue 1 by a football player, featuring in 51 games in a row without defeat (40 wins and 11 draws) between 2023 and 2025.

PSG’s other domestic records were the most consecutive wins in a Ligue 1 season by a football team – 14 – the longest unbeaten streak by a Ligue 1 team – 36 games – the longest away unbeaten streak by a Ligue 1 team – 39 games – and the highest points total in a single Ligue 1 season by a team – 96.

For all their recent successes, the Parisian giants are in no mood to slow down. This season, they will look to match Real Madrid’s feat of three consecutive titles in the UEFA Champions League era. Who knows how many more records they will break along the way?
