Trio of buddies land longest ever cornhole shot with a slingshot from over 150 ft away
A trio of buddies landed the world’s longest cornhole shot with a slingshot after an excruciating 12 hours.
Joel Strasser, Luke Lorick and Garrett Smith (all USA) spent half a day flinging a beanbag across the Meridian Waters football field at Meridian High School in Idaho, before finally landing that all-important shot.
It was on 11 July that they hit the target from a distance of 46.025 m (151 ft), which equates to just under half the length of the American football field where their stage was set.
The trio, displaying exemplary patience and perseverance, are seen in this video lining up that final perfect shot and letting go.

They watch as the bag flies through the air across the field.
As it lands in the hole, they cheer and pump their fists in the air, and quite literally jump for joy.

The men squeal with excitement as they run to the target to make sure they weren’t seeing things.
Pointing at the bag in the hole, they can’t stop screaming, elated to have finally landed the impressive shot.

They celebrate with a wholesome hug, exclaiming: “We did it!”
Joel is a serial record breaker, but usually through putting stuff in his bushy beard.

Among his titles are the most chopsticks in a beard (520), the most pipe cleaners in a beard (1,150) and the most toothpicks in a beard (3,500).
This is Luke’s first record, but Garrett shares another with Joel, and David Rush - the most chopsticks put in a beard in one minute (team of two). David and Garrett stuck 104 chopsticks in Joel’s beard before the time ran out.

Joel’s records also inspired Anya Bannasch (USA) to break the most golf tees in the hair with a total of 711.
