A serial speedster has claimed his latest running record. And he did it backwards… while wearing high heels.

Christian Roberto López Rodríguez (Spain) risked blisters and sprained ankles to claim the fastest 100 m backwards in high heels with an impressive time of 16.55 seconds.

He broke his own record of 20.05 seconds that he’d set on our Spanish TV show La Noche De Los Récords.

Rules of the record say the shoes must have heels of at least 7 cm (2.76 in), and they can’t be any wider than 1.5 cm (0.59 in) at the tip. Platforms are not permitted.

Christian is seen in our video lining up facing away from the starting line.

In a pair of blue high heels, that he paired with blue socks, red shorts and a pink and blue long-sleeved top, he speeds off as the clock starts ticking.

Click-clacking down the road, he runs as fast as he can… while looking fabulous.

And a camera strapped to his chest offers a fun POV of his feet.

After crossing the finish line, he takes his shoes off to experience that sheer relief of freeing your feet after a long day.
