Ice skater's "wildest dream" comes true as she breaks record by skipping on the rink

Staying upright on a pair of ice skates is hard enough for a lot of people.
Now imagine being handed a skipping rope and being expected to jump over it as many times as you could for a minute.
Junior and Senior National Champion ice skater Eszter Szombathelyi (Hungary) has mastered doing both those things at the same time.
In front of a crowd in Sun Valley, Idaho, USA, on 25 July, she performed the most rope skips on ice skates in one minute, a feat she describes as her “wildest dream”.
She managed to jump the rope a whopping 136 times, way beyond the 45 minimum she had to beat.
Looking the part in a bedazzled jumpsuit, Eszter appeared to barely break a sweat as she spun the rope round and round, leaping over it on the blades of her skates.
After the time ran out, Eszter skated off, pumping her fist in celebration as the crowd watching her broke into applause.
The skater told us: “I want to inspire other ice skaters and performers to dream big, and show them that everything is possible if we are brave enough to do it.
“I would like to expand the world of figure skating shows with a new, spectacular acrobatic element.”
After receiving her certificate, Eszter posed with it on the ice.
Sharing a series of snaps on Instagram, she gushed: “The feeling when your wildest dream came true…. well.. AMAZING! UNBELIEVABLE! INCREDIBLE!
“I honestly hope I can inspire others to dream big and fight for it.
“Everything is possible if you brave enough to work hard and give it your all. If you want something bad enough, then you have to create your own destiny and go after it.
“Thank you everyone for the support and kind words!”
