A circus performer with an incredibly strong bite broke a record by lifting three people with nothing but his teeth.

Michael Radiff (USA) left a live audience in Taipei City, Songshan District, Taiwan, stunned in May when he claimed the title for heaviest weight held with the teeth while suspended upside down with an incredible total of 185.80 kg (409.61 lb).

That’s heavier than an adult male reindeer or a gorilla, which typically weigh around 181 kg (400 lb).

Dangling head-down high above the ground, Michael is seen in this awe-inspiring video biting down on a mouthguard with straps and a metal bar attached to it.

As he’s raised higher and higher, three of his fellow performers – two females and one male - are lifted with him.

Before long, Michael removes his hands from the metal bar he’s clinging to so that he’s entirely holding the weight of three people with his teeth.

Circus performer Michael is a strength performance specialist, and he’s either a dentist’s biggest dream or worst nightmare… we can’t decide.

He’s worked his way up to doing this act by training his jaw strength, working on his neck stabilization and by performing inverted core exercises.

Rules of the record say the weight must be lifted at least 15 cm (6 in) off the ground and must be held for at least 10 seconds.

Michael broke the record of 130 kg (286.60 lb), and was achieved by Loretta Antal (Hungary), on the set of Lo Show Dei Record, in Milan, Italy, on 27 January 2024.

The performer is one of many who have broken records with incredible – and slightly unusual – feats of strength.

In September 2024, Marcello Ferri (Italy) set the record for the heaviest weight lifted with the toes with a total of 80 kg (176.36 lbs).

In 2022, Thomas Blackthorne (UK) performed the heaviest weight lifted with the tongue – 13 kg (28 lb 10.5 oz).

Back in 2013, Satyajit Hota (India) lifted 3.51 kg (7.74 lb) to set the heaviest weight lifted with the eyelid.

Another record that’s stood since that year is heaviest weight lifted by a beard - 63.80 kg (140 lb 10 oz) by Antanas Kontrimas (Lithuania).
