We’re going live in Germany this weekend with a brand-new adrenaline-fuelled record-breaking show.

Die große Show der Weltrekorde is coming to Sat1 with two special shows tomorrow night and Saturday (29 and 30 August).

The action will also be going all through the night, with a livestreamed test of endurance on streaming platform Joyn as one record hopeful takes on the most arm wrestling matches in 24 hours.

The record to beat is 1,024, which was set in 2012 by Ion Oncescu (Romania).

The shows will be truly action-packed, with record attempts involving animals, kids, and people demonstrating their mental agility, incredible strength and unique talents.

Audiences watching at home will be as big a part of the show as those appearing on screen as they’ll be able to vote for their favourite record breaker.

The winner will be featured within the pages of next year’s Guinness World Records book.

Record attempts on the show, hosted by Michelle Hunziker and Jörg Pilawa, will be overseen by Adjudicator Lena Kuhlmann with support from Seyda Subasi-Gemici, who will ensure all of the rules are followed by the aspiring record breakers.

Die große Show der Weltrekorde airs both nights from 8:15 p.m. and will be staged in front of a live studio audience of 500 people.

They’ll be the country’s first live Guinness World Records shows in many years, and will give fans the opportunity to see exactly what it takes to break a record.

Ahead of the broadcasts, Sat1 Frühstücksfernsehen presenter Matthias Killing set a new record by presenting a live link whilst walking a slackline.

His daring feat officially earned the record for the greatest distance on an elevated slackline while presenting a live programme.

His elation on breaking the record demonstrates just how much it means to people to prove they are the best in the world.

Reporter Niklas Reschke also attempted to gain a world record of his own - the most underpants pulled on in one minute.

He had to beat the total of 44 set by Nicholas Manning (Australia) in 2023 but sadly fell a little short.

Good luck to everyone taking on a record this weekend!
