Canadian woman covers herself in 360 neck ties until she becomes unrecognizable!
One-by-one, a multitude of red, blue, green, striped, and patterned neckties enveloped the neck of a Canadian politician last November, after Marwah Rizqy took on the Guinness World Records title for most neck ties worn at once as part of a segment on the Canadian TV show Infoman.
Marwah – who serves as a Member of the National Assembly of Quebec – announced her resignation from her post this year, deciding to spend more time with her family and young children.
So in celebration of her tenure as a politician, the Quebecois show invited her to win a world record title on air – picking a fun event that required her to fit over 330 ties around her neck at once, to break a record held by David Aparecido Dos Santos Araujo (Brazil) from 2023.
“I accepted the challenge of breaking the record for the most neck ties worn at once to show that women are equal to men, and that women can also wear many ties,” said Marwah.

To help her out, each of the ties were pre-knotted in anticipation of her attempt, and Marwah and the production team practised wrapping them around her in advance to make sure they had adequate space.
When the time came to take on the record, accountant Pierre-Yves McSween counted all of Marwah’s ties, while the Chief of Montreal Police Fady Dagher watched on in approval. Stringing the ties around her neck was TV presenter and host of the show, Jean-René Dufort.
It took 48 minutes to tie the record set by David in Brazil – and by that point, Marwah’s face was almost entirely obscured by a giant mound of neckties.
“Parfait!” she exclaimed, jokingly saying in French that she felt the amount of ties around her neck was perfect.
Unfortunately, she wasn’t done just yet – but 30 ties later, with only her face peeking through the mountain of accessories, Marwah finally took the record title!
The room broke into applause, and Marwah’s laugh could be heard through the pile of fabric.

After shaking off all her ties, Marwah walked away with a Guinness World Records title that day – yet another accomplishment her children can look up to.
Congratulations, Marwah – you’re Officially Amazing!
