Say cheese! Indian dentist collects so many cameras he opens his own museum

This Indian dentist is giving you more than one reason to smile after gathering the world’s largest collection of cameras (stills photography).
Arcot Vasantha Rao Arun has so many of them – 5,707 – that he’s even opened his own museum!
Dr Arun has had a lifelong passion for collecting after picking up the hobby in his early childhood.
His fascination with antique cameras began back in 1997 when he bought his first twin-lens camera at a flea market.
His love for cameras developed over time, and before long he found himself in possession of over 1,000.
It was then, in 2017, that he opened Dr Arun’s Camera Museum in Chennai, with 1,900 unique antique and contemporary cameras on display.
Today, that number has tripled.
He has everything from Nikon models to massive large-format cameras that date back as far as 1895.
They’re all proudly displayed in glass cabinets, waiting for avid photography lovers just like Dr Arun.
It took Dr Arun and his friend Tanishq Arun eight months to carefully document every single camera and produce a full inventory for his record application.
Of course, he had to buy a 5,708th camera to take pictures of the rest.
Say cheese!
