An Indian man with a passion for card-stacking set himself the ultimate challenge – 24 hours to break four records.

Arnav Daga armed himself with hundreds of cards – and a dream – on 19 October 2024.

And by the time the day was done, he had earned records for the tallest house of cards built in one hour, eight hours, 12 hours and 24 hours.

“Card stacking has always been my passion and I really wanted to test my limits,” he told us.

Kicking off with the one hour attempt, Arnav managed to stack 30 levels.

He said: “Card stacking is a challenging art which requires a lot of time and patience.”

It’s also very competitive.

This record has already been broken by Tian Rui (China) with 32 levels. He’d previously held it with 27 before losing it to Arnav.

After that, Arnav began a new tower, one that he’d use for the other three records.

He confessed: “I was already exhausted by the first attempt, so I started off really slow and wasn’t sure if I’d be able to accomplish the target which I had set.

“I put on my headphones and started to play some music which really motivated me.

“I had this motivation in my mind that I needed to keep stacking and that’s exactly what I did.”

Arnav built his tower up to 61 levels to claim the three records in one go.

He’s been card stacking as a hobby since he was eight years old. It was during the Covid-19 lockdown that he made it his dream to one day achieve a world record, and his practice paid off.

He said: “From seeing records being created to finally becoming a record holder has been a really satisfying journey and I wish to single-handedly own all the Guinness World Records titles in the field of card stacking.”

He took the eight and 12 hour titles from Tian, who had previously broken them with 50 levels.

Tian has since reclaimed the eight hour record with 62 levels, so perhaps he’ll be coming for Arnav’s other records soon too.

Who knew the card stacking world was so ruthless?
