Inside the book, you’ll find answers to questions like:
- Where does the oldest motorcycle race in history take place?
- Who achieved the farthest long distance boomerang throw? (Spoiler: the colossal throw measured a whopping 238 metres, equalling 780 feet 10 inches).
- Who is the oldest Olympic gold medallist in history? And who was the first-ever winner of the Winter Olympics?
- What soccer club orchestrated the eye-poppingly expensive transfer for the most expensive football player?
But if you expect to only find top-scoring champs and Olympic medallists inside the pages of 365: Sports, think again.
Excellence is not always about home runs, Grand Slam wins and athletes who reached global fame stepping on the podium: sometimes, the most entertaining record titles are found in bizarre stunts and niche competitions you've never heard about.
We’ll take you pogo-jumping and bog-snorkelling, we'll break the ice with the longest polar ultramarathon and unveil the secrets of the Wife-Carrying World Championship.
Because we bet you’ve heard of Super Bowl games and UEFA matches, but what about the record for the fastest speed volcano surfing?
You heard that right: on 24 January, USA thrill-seeker and CEO Chase Boehringer stepped on a sandboard to surf down the Mexican volcano Parícutin.
"I wanted to poke at it and see if it held up," he said, explaining why he attempted the record after someone deemed it 'impossible'. "It didn't, and now I'm a Guinness World Records title holder."
If sliding full-speed down a volcano wasn't enough, Chase had to face a gruesome adventure merely to reach his destination: after an eight-hour bus ride and riding a horse for five hours, he struggled to understand the native dialect spoken in the village close to the volcano.
Despite that, Chase still managed to see through with his - now record-shattering - goal!
