American man spends nearly 90 minutes balancing a chair on his chin to reclaim record
If you’ve ever got a couple hours to spare, and a plastic chair… take some inspiration from serial record breaker David Rush (USA), who is a master at turning everyday objects into title-taking opportunities.

David has well over 180 record titles at this point, and the American author, speaker and entertainer loves challenging himself. So when he found out one of his records was overtaken – for the longest duration balancing a chair on the chin – he knew he had to steal the title back.
The time to beat was 1:19:17, set by Christian Roberto López Rodríguez (Spain) in 2021, so David had to improve his previous record time of 1:08:37 by over eight minutes in order to beat the record by a considerable margin.

But after some practice, he arrived at the West Boise YMCA in Boise, Idaho on 20 November ready to take on the attempt!
His chair of choice was a brown adult-sized Adams low back patio chair from Lowe’s hardware store, weighing 4 lb 3.5 oz and standing about 31.5 in tall. David’s plan was to rest the top of the backrest of the chair upside down on his chin, and then balance it there until he beat Christian’s time.
The attempt started strong, and David kept his back straight and his head facing the sky as the chair rested steadily on his chin.

A few times, it would lean to the side, and David would carefully correct his posture, tilting the chair back to a steadier position.
But as soon as he surpassed Christian’s time, David was jubilant, pumping his fists in their air while vigilantly keeping his chair balanced on his jaw.

He ended with a time of 1:20:30, securing the title and taking back the record that he once lost!

Now, David can add another record into his highlight reel – this one for balancing a throne on his dome.
