If you’ve been to see A Minecraft Movie, you’ve probably had “Steve’s Lava Chicken” playing on a never-ending loop in your head ever since.

You and everybody else, buddy!

Jack Black’s 34-second earworm is officially a record-breaking hit after becoming the shortest song to enter the UK singles chart and the shortest song to enter the US singles chart.

The movie, based on the hit videogame which has helped lots of people become record breakers, was released in cinemas earlier this month.

And Jack’s musical moment, as character Steve, has proven very popular.

In the UK, the song debuted at No.77 on the Official Singles Chart and at No.78 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Jack sings the song in a scene where he introduces his gruesome contraption that cooks live chickens with lava.

An “Extended Version” of “Steve’s Lava Chicken”, which runs for 1 minute 15 seconds, is featured on the “I…Am Steve EP”.

The previous shortest song in the UK charts was “The Ladies’ Bras” by Jonny Trunk & Wisbey, which reached the Top 30 on 6 October 2007. It was 36 seconds long.

In the US, the record previously belonged to Pikotaro (Japan) for the song “PPAP (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen)”, which was 45 seconds long and entered the chart on 29 October 2016.
