Bungee jump superfan claims two world records after over 2,000 daring leaps

It’s likely that François-Marie Dibon (France) loves bungee jumping more than anyone else in the world.

He loves bungee jumping so much that he did it 2,350 times in the space of eight years.

He loves bungee jumping SO MUCH that he’s claimed not one, but two world records by doing them.

Back in 2022, François-Marie jumped an unbelievable 765 times in one day at Highland Fling Bungee in Killiecrankie, Scotland, UK, to claim the record for most bungee jumps in 24 hours outdoors (5-10 bungee cord).

And one that was eight years in the making, François-Marie claimed the title for most commercial bungee jumping sites visited by jumping at 16 of them between August 2016 and August 2024.

Those sites were in 12 different countries across four different continents. They were: Austria's Rupert Hirner Bungy Jumping, Canada’s Great Canadian Bungee and Whistler Bungee, Denmark's Bungy Jump Copenhagen, Finland’s Sky Breakers, Mexico's Bungy Teques, IBO Adventures and Wild Canyon, Nepal's The Last Resort, Norway's Telemark Opplevelser, South Africa's Bloukrans Bungy, Sweden's Bungy STHLM, Switzerland’s 007 Bungy Verzasca, UK's Highland Fling Bungee and UK Bungee Club and Zambia's Shearwater Bungee.

The keen bungee jumper raised money for humanitarian crisis charity Caritas.

He said: "While living my passion, I want to serve a good cause with the moto: 'Give as much as I jump!'"

In the incredible pictures he submitted as evidence, François-Marie is seen flinging himself from bungee rigs in increasingly inventive ways.

Jumping head first with his arms spread out, backflipping, leaning forwards until he falls, or hanging off the ledge by his toes until he can’t hold on any more, fearless François-Marie can’t get enough of throwing himself off structures before bouncing back up into the air.

And in videos he sent to us, the bungee superfan is seen spinning round in circles once he’s stopped bouncing, taking time to enjoy the incredible landscapes surrounding him.

Here are some other wild bungee records for anyone who might want to give it a go:

• Curtis Rivers (UK) performed the highest bungee jump when he leapt from a hot air balloon at 4,632 m (15,200 ft) over Puertollano, Spain, in May 2002.
• Nissan France staged the highest car bungee jump from 65 m (213 ft 3 in) for an ad campaign in August 2024.
• The highest bungee jump dive into water was performed by Raymond Woodcock (UK), who dove from 141.73 m (464 ft 11.91 in) at The National Diving & Activity Centre in Chepstow, UK, in June 2015.
• The highest bungee jump on a motorcycle record is currently unclaimed. The minimum requirement is 20 m (65.65 ft).
• The most bungee jumps in one hour title is also currently unclaimed. Someone would have to do at least 19 to win the record.
