You’d probably be pretty gutted it you had the world’s thinnest sandwich served up to you on a plate.

But for Wallace Wong, the “Six Pack Chef”, the slim sarnie brought much joy as his latest record-breaking achievement.

The Canadian cooking star made his was back to our London HQ last month to put his chopping skills to the test once more.

But this time, he wanted to see just how thin he could slice.

Guinness World Records Adjudicator Joanne Brent said the sandwich had to contain at least two ingredients and that they must be used proportionately.

It had to be no thicker than 10 mm to break the record.

Wallace explained he was using shokupan, a Japanese milk bread, to make his sandwich, saying: “I prefer it because it’s tasty. I’m a chef so it has to taste good.”

He said that slicing the bread was the hardest thing about creating the sandwich.

Edging his knife slowly down the loaf, it took Wallace multiple attempts to cut perfect slices with no holes or rips in them.

He then cut up tomatoes and cucumbers, ingredients he’s used to break records in the past.

When everything was ready, he delicately assembled it, and came out with an impressive final measurement of just 5.12 mm (0.20 in) for the thinnest sandwich sliced by hand.

Wallace, who’s a keen bodybuilder, also took on the challenge of filleting a huge salmon in record time.

After Adjudicator Joanne went through the rules, Wallace got to work on breaking the record for fastest time to fillet a 12 lb fish.

Slicing and dicing as quickly as he could, Wallace chopped the fish up into 20 portions (he had to do at least 16) in just 1 min 17.85 seconds.
