When pigs fly… Norbert skateboards! Meet the adorable pig with sick skating skills

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a… pig on a skateboard?
Yes – you read that right. Norbert the Pig from Buffalo Grove, Illinois, USA has a particular set of skills that have flown him right into the 2026 Guinness World Records book.
The talented pig is a natural skateboarder, racing around with his family on the streets and pushing off with his tiny trotters. With the help of his owner, Vincent Baran, Norbert has become the official title holder for the fastest 10 m pushing a skateboard by a pig after his 11.32 second-long ride – an achievement that has won him the moniker “Tony Pork” after skateboarder Tony Hawk.
“He looks like a natural on the board,” said Vincent. “People joke about ‘when pigs fly’ and now we can confirm, they do – on a skateboard!”
It all started a few years ago, when Vincent rediscovered his old skateboard and wanted to see if Norbert would like taking a ride.
“I had my board from when I was a kid and figured I’d try him with it,” he said. “I went outside, laid the board down and took out some unsalted peanuts as treats.
“In about 15 minutes, I had him standing on the board. After a couple more sessions, he was pushing himself down the street.”
Norbert has been a natural skateboarder for a while now, but to make an official record attempt the family had to wait out the brutal winter weather that hits their village in the suburbs of Chicago.
Yet once springtime arrived, and the snow cleared up, they were able to get the five-year-old mini pig back out on the streets practising his craft.
“We made sure that his skateboard trucks were tight, we stocked up on unsalted peanuts and string cheese for his rewards, and measured out his route so we knew exactly where and how far he needed to go,” said Vincent.

Norbert is incredibly food-motivated, so they trained him to get on the board and push off by dangling treats in front of his snout.
And sure enough, he began speeding around the neighbourhood!
“After a handful of sessions, we finally hit the sweet spot and his run went perfectly!” Vincent said.
Tony Pork effortlessly scooted around on the board, following a route laid out by Vincent and dotted with reflective markers that marked the 10 m (32 ft) track.
He started at one end of the street, propped his trotters up on the skateboard, and excitedly pushed off in the direction of Vincent – who was holding out some food at the opposite end of the track.
And in just 11.32 seconds, Norbert reached the finish line – which is an impressive time for a 175 lb pig!
Vincent was very proud of his pig’s achievement, and told us that it was an “honour for him to be recognized for his unique ability.”
“He was rewarded handsomely with peanut-butter-covered bananas, peanuts, and apples,” he said. “We made sure he was treated like a king.”
And who knows, maybe we’ll see Norbert break some more records in the future – as Vincent says he’s particularly good at balancing on his rear trotters, and is considering teaching him how to dance or hold a paintbrush in his mouth to become the next ‘Pigcasso’.
So here’s looking at you, pig – congratulations again on your terrific achievement, you are Officially Amazing!
