The stars of record-breaking TV show The Boys were left stunned when we showed up at Comic Con to surprise them with some Guinness World Records certificates.

The Amazon Prime show was the most in-demand action and adventure TV show and the most in-demand superhero TV show in the 2024-25 period, according to data-science firm Parrot Analytics.

It had a global demand rating 67.8 times greater than the average TV show.

This weekend, we headed to MCM London Comic Con to surprise Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Karen Fukuhara (Kimiko Miyashiro), Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk) and Tomer Capone (Frenchie) with official Guinness World Records certificates during their panel appearance.

As the stars were interviewed about the show in front of thousands of their fans, Official Adjudicator Will “Billy” Sinden was brought out on stage to hand over the certificates.

They had no idea it was going to happen and were all thrilled with the achievement, giving a heartfelt thanks to the creators of the show, but most importantly, the fans who made it such a massive hit.

Warning: We’re going to be talking spoilers from here on out so if you aren’t up to date with The Boys and Gen V you might want to look away now.

Season 4 of The Boys ended with the team divided as martial law was declared by the President, and Homelander (Antony Starr) pinned the death of Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) on the ‘Starlighters’.

We finally heard Kimiko speak as Frenchie was taken away from her, Starlighter got her powers back and Billy appeared to be about to inject more of the Compound V that both gave him powers and made him terminally ill.

Teasing the upcoming season, Karl said during the panel: “It was a fantastic experience. We’re so grateful that, firstly to be given the opportunity to get five seasons, which can be a rarity for a television show.

“I think all of us were acutely aware that this was our last ride and none of us wanted to ride this horse into the ground, we wanted to go out on our own terms, go out on top, and if you’re a fan of the show, you are in for a treat!

“Season 5 is insane, I think it’s our best season yet, it’s going to hit you right in the guts, it’s funny, there are shockers in it and it delivers on every level, so we can’t wait for you to see it.”

We’ve got loads more stories like this in our Arts and Entertainment section – check it out!

The fifth season of The Boys will be the last, and the beginning of the explosive finale was teased as season 2 of spin-off Gen V came to a close.

After Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater) manipulated Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) into healing him, he attempted to cull the lower-tier Supers at Godolkin U to increase his powers to the point he could puppet Homelander, but he was ultimately stopped by Marie with the help of her friends.

As the season came to a close, Marie and her friends teamed up with Starlight (Erin Moriarty), joining the resistance against Homelander and Vought.

But together, will they be strong enough to take down Homelander?

Karl said working on the final season of the show was “bittersweet” and warned fans that it will be an emotional one, saying they’ll “need tissues”.

While Laz added that reading the script for the first episode of season 5 gave him the same feeling that he had when he read the very first episode.

“We’re finishing how we started,” he said. “And it’s going to be a ride all the way through.”
