Circus performer breaks records by hanging by teeth and stopping motorcycles with beard

A circus performer with an iron jaw has broken a bunch of world records with his impressive skills.
Leonardo Costache (Romania) has earned titles by hanging suspended from his teeth, restraining a motorcycle with his beard, and balancing his partner Vita Morondel (Romania) on a pole held in his mouth.
It’s no wonder the 41-year-old has earned the nickname “Leo Jaws”.
His record-breaking journey began in July 2019 when he combined his juggling skills with his super strong teeth.
We can’t decide if he’s a dentist’s dream or nightmare!
Leo performed the most juggling catches in one minute while hanging suspended by the teeth (3 objects) – a total of 195.
The following year he lifted a whopping 101.3 kg (223 lb 5.25 oz) to nab the record for heaviest weight lifted while hanging suspended by the teeth.
Preparation for Leo’s next record, the longest time restraining a motorcycle with the beard, began way before he earned it in July 2023.
He explained: “During the pandemic, like many other people, I decided to grow a beard.
“When the time came, I said, ‘Okay I need to do something with this beard’. And I wanted to restrain a motorcycle.
“The strain on the skin and the hair was so strong that every time I was training this particular stunt, 30% of my hair was falling out.
“So it wasn’t something sustainable long term.
“I grew my beard for another nine months before attempting the record.”
Leonardo recruited Vita to drive the motorcycle and he kept it in place for a huge 21.33 seconds.
He said: “Afterwards, I realized that about 50% of my beard had been detached but it didn’t matter because I was the new record holder.”
While Vita was involved in the motorcycle record, she and Leonardo later teamed up to earn a few titles together.
In a daring stunt in January 2024, Leonardo balanced a pole with a giant loop on his shoulders while Vita rode a bicycle around the loop 61 times in 60 seconds.
That earned them the record for most bicycle loops performed on top of a pole balanced on the shoulders in one minute (team of two).

In April that year, Leonardo also held a pole in his mouth and turned around three times, while Vita was balancing on top of it.
That earned the record for most consecutive 360 degree turns while balancing a person on a pole held in the mouth.
The couple also broke the record for most 360 degree turns while hanging suspended by the teeth holding a person in 30 seconds in October 2024, with a total of 10.
Leonardo has one more record of his own, and he’s broken this one numerous times.
He first did the most juggling catches while hanging suspended by the teeth in 30 seconds (5 balls) in May 2024, with 62.
He broke it again that June with 65 catches, and for a third and final time in August with 74.
There’s just no stopping him.
