Today is a BIG day for the world’s shortest woman.

Jyoti Amge (India) is turning 31 - and she’s got a new world record.

We had a bit of an early celebration with her last month while she was in town for Guinness World Records Day alongside the world’s tallest woman Rumeysa Gelgi.

While catching up with her about life at 2 ft 0.7 in (62.8 cm) tall, we presented her with a birthday cake… which looked supersized next to her even though it was shaped like a caterpillar.

Jyoti gasped as she uncovered her eyes to see the sweet treat in front of her.

Blowing out her candles, she made a wish before cutting herself a slice of the chocolate cake with a kitchen knife that looked scarily big in her teeny tiny hands.

And speaking of her tiny hands, we also whipped out the measuring tape while she was in London to officially verify them as the smallest hands on a person (female).

Jyoti’s left hand measures 2.79 in (7.1 cm) and right hand measures 2.83 in (7.2 cm).

That’s almost half the height of a Coca-Cola can (4.8 in; 12.2 cm) and smaller than the diameter of a baseball (2.9 in; 7.4 cm).

Things like a standard iPhone or a mug look gigantic in Jyoti’s hands.

But believe it or not, her hands are actually bigger than those belonging to Afshin Ghaderzadeh (Iran), the world’s shortest man, who is taller than Jyoti at 2 ft 1.69 in (65.24 cm).

Afshin’s left hand measures 2.63 in (6.7 cm) and right hand measures 2.51 in (6.4 cm).

Jyoti’s hands are way smaller than Rumeysa’s though, as you can see in this sweet picture of them together in our London office.

Rumeysa’s hands are record breakers too.

Among her many record titles, she has the longest finger on a living person (female) with one measuring 4.4 in (11.2 cm).

That means her fingers are longer than Jyoti's entire hand.

The largest hands ever (female) belonged to Zeng Jinlian (China), who was once the tallest person living.

Her hands measured 10 in (25.4 cm) from wrist to fingertip.

Jyoti has been a record holder since 2009, when she was named the shortest living teenager (female). She was 2 ft (61.95 cm) then, so she’s since grown just 0.7 in.

She’s also the world’s shortest actress thanks to her starring role in American Horror Story: Freak Show.
