A super mum broke a record alongside her baby when she took him on a run.

Khrystyna Bohomiahkova (Ukraine) broke the record for fastest 10 km pushing a pram (female) when she took on an event in Stare Babice, Poland, with her son Oleksander in April.

They clocked in an impressive time of 37 min 26 sec.

Khrystyna, 33, has been a big sports fan since she was eight years old, and running has been part of her daily routine for over two decades.

Looking back on her record-breaking run, the mum-of-two said: “I ran the race with my son Oleksander, who was 1 year and 7 months old at the time.

On that day he was very cooperative, he didn’t sleep but instead he entertained himself by singing a child’s song.

“I was worried I might have to stop but he seemed to enjoy the speed and allowed me to run without interruption.”

Khrystyna added: “My son was a great motivator and it made it feel like a shared achievement.”

She spent nine months running with Oleksander to train for her record attempt, and says her running technique doesn’t change when she’s running with the stroller.

It can be tricky at times though.

“The most challenging part of running with a stroller is when you’re running against the wind or uphill,” she explained.

“Fortunately this race course was flat and there was no wind, which meant I could conserve more energy.”

Khrystyna runs with her baby every single day and can go as far as 14 km with the stroller, regardless of the weather.

She says she can’t recall exactly when she found out about this record, but knew she wanted to attempt it as soon as she could.

She said of breaking it: “I was overjoyed and proud. Proud of my son, myself, my family and to everyone who supported me.

“I feel confident in my abilities and this achievement motivated me to pursue new goals. I am proud to be part of the global community of record holders.”
