Woman with impressive chopstick skills breaks record by eating individual grains of rice

A dexterous woman with a passion for Korean culture has broken a record with her impressive chopstick skills.
Sumaiya Khan (Bangladesh) claimed the title for most rice grains eaten in one minute using chopsticks with a total of 37, beating the previous record by 10.
To earn her certificate, the 24-year-old had to eat one single grain at a time using her chopsticks.
If two or more grains were on her chopsticks when she ate one, that would be disqualified rather than being counted as a single grain.
And the rice had to be carried all the way to the mouth using the chopsticks and not flicked from the bowl to the mouth.
Sumaiya was encouraged to take on the record attempt by a colleague, who had seen the previous record and knew she could break it.
Armed with a bowl of rice and her “handy, dandy chopsticks”, Sumaiya admits she found the attempt well within her remit.
She’s been using chopsticks to eat almost all of her meals for a few years now.
She told us: “I had a thing for ramen back in the day, I was obsessed with ramen and loved Korean culture so that’s when I got my own personal chopsticks and since then I’ve eaten almost all of my food using them, and especially since I’m Bangladeshi I eat rice almost every single day.”
On achieving the record, she added: “It feels surreal, it feels amazing and everyone around me is proud of me for actually attempting it.
“I feel proud of myself for doing it too because it’s such a great thing to actually achieve, having your name out there in the world and being part of something so big, it’s actually amazing and I’m honoured and blessed and proud and every other good thing that I can say about it.”
Sumaiya said that she may attempt some more records one day, but that for now, she’s happy with the title she’s got.
Reckon you’ve got the chops to beat Sumaiya’s record?
