Shopping for the perfect Halloween costume when you’re 7 ft 0.7 in (215.16 cm) tall isn’t an easy task.

The world’s tallest woman Rumeysa Gelgi (Türkiye) had her Snow White costume custom made when she celebrated Halloween for the first time ever a couple of years ago.

The holiday fell while she was in America filming our documentary Rumeysa: Walking Tall, released on Rakuten TV late last year, and she needed to find the perfect accessories.

“So I had the dress, I had the bow, but I didn’t have the cloak, the red cloak, which is a crucial part of the Snow White costume,” she explained.

Rumeysa visited a costume shop with her mum in the hope of finding the final touch to complete her Disney inspired look, and joked that the costumes she saw were so nice she didn’t like her own anymore.

She also took the opportunity to have some fun dressing up and trying out different props, hats and masks.

While she was there, one of the store workers opened up to her about his own condition.

The man named Robert said: “I have a condition called acromegaly, which is very similar to yours, but with a different cause.”

Acromegaly is a rare condition where the body produces too much growth hormone, causing body tissues and bones to grow quicker than usual.

Rumeysa has Weaver syndrome, a very rare condition that causes accelerated growth and can result in skeletal abnormalities.

Robert added: “I never yet met another acromegalic. You are actually the first person I’ve met with a disease similar.”

Rumeysa told him: “It was an honour for me,” and he returned the sentiment.

When her Halloween transformation was complete with her new cloak, Rumeysa headed off to an elementary school to meet with some of the children, who were also dressed up for the holiday.

She confessed: “I’m very excited. I’m looking forward to seeing their reactions when they see me.”

And she certainly looked the part once she was all dressed up.

“I probably was the tallest Snow White they have ever seen,” she laughed as she reflected on the gasps of amazement from the children as she stood up to reveal her true height.

One of the school teachers said: “I love the message she was able to share with our students about just being yourself and being comfortable with who you are.

“That’s definitely a message that our students need to hear all the time.”
