Max Alexander is a talented fashion designer from Denver, Colorado, USA, who has shown their work nationally and even run their own fashion show.

All that, at the age of 7 years 266 days!

On 18 November 2023, Max became the youngest person to design a runway show, after they were offered a runway at Denver Fashion Week.

Max has been designing, sewing and selling garments internationally since the age of four.

They made their own designs and hand-selected models, makeup artist and hair stylists closely to bring this vision to life.

Max knew early on what they wanted to do in life.

“When I was four I told my parents I was a dress maker and just started sewing and got better and better,” they said.

Max's mother, Sherri Madison, an artist who works with reused cardboard, made them their first mannequin. Later on, in 2022, they started sewing classes.

Since then, Max has had an interview with People magazine, has been on the show Good Morning America and is even getting commissions creating garments for celebrities such as actress Sharon Stone.

Being offered the opportunity to design their own runway show was the culmination of years of work to improve their skills, knowledge and sense of fashion.

The show itself took weeks to prepare for, with a large group of professionals involved.

As Max explained in their own words: “It takes a lot of work you know. It’s a lot of people, my mum, models, people, the production manager, a bunch of other managers…”

The young designer was at the centre of the entire project, with every major decision flowing through them, as they carefully oversaw every detail.

“First I selected my models, I selected which dresses they’re going to wear, then I put the dresses in order, so which one is going to come out, and it was really fun.”

The design prodigy has big aspirations for the future: “I think that I can be a full-time fashion designer. I’m not afraid of a little hard work.”

They have a passion for creating dresses out of unique materials, such as ties and candy, and enjoy a good design challenge.

Their uniqueness and creativity have attracted a substantial following of over 3 million followers on their Instagram account, couture.to.the.max, run by their mum.

About their record-breaking achievement, Max said: “Having a Guinness World Records title, it means a lot to me.”

After showcasing their Couture to the Max designs in their first real fashion show runway outing, the future looks incredibly bright for Max Alexander.

We can't wait to see what other - possibly record-breaking - milestones they’ll achieve next.
