K-pop icons BLACKPINK have become such a hit worldwide that they're officially the most streamed female group on Spotify.

Their songs have a whopping 8,880,030,049 individual streams.

Formed in 2016, the band consisting of members Rosé, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo overtook British pop group Little Mix by 400 million streams.

Their most popular hits include "How You Like That" (746,198,263 streams), "Kill This Love" (672,084,360) and "DDU-DU DDU-DU" (574,613,362).

They toured throughout the United States and Europe in 2022 and have shows coming up in Asia and Australia during 2023.

All four individual members of BLACKPINK have at least 66 million followers on Instagram, while the group's joint account has racked up 53 million followers.

Despite their collective success, recently the girls have branched out into their own solo careers with instant success.

Lisa became the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022 as well as the first solo K-pop winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards.

And back in 2021, Rosé became the first artist to reach number one on a Billboard Global chart as a soloist and as part of a group with her debut single, "On The Ground".

As a band, BLACKPINK still hold multiple records including for the most subscribers for a band on YouTube as well as becoming the first K-pop group to reach No.1 on the UK albums chart (female) and the first K-pop group to reach No.1 on the US albums chart (female).

Also, the quartet have previously held Guinness World Records titles for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours and the most viewed music video in 24 hours, however these records are now held by fellow K-pop band BTS for their single "Dynamite".

Spotify currently has over 480 million users worldwide, making genres like K-pop a lot more accessible to global audiences.
