A trio of jump ropers from China achieved a remarkable feat, setting a Guinness World Records title for the most double under skips whilst jumping long rope simultaneously in one minute with 176 consecutive jumps.

The team, led by national jump rope coach Wang Huanan, includes 14-year-old athlete Liu Xinzhu and her mother, coach Kan Qingru. Wang Huanan and Kan Qingru handle the ropes, while Liu Xinzhu is the one executing the jumps.

Their inspiration came from a performance segment in jump rope competitions, involving intricate maneuvers with both large and small ropes. After further refinement by Wang Huanan, the team achieved the simultaneous swinging of a large rope by two members, while the third member executed rapid double under skips.

The trio's achievement is backed by substantial credentials.

Wang Huanan, at 22, has won 26 championships from 2019 to 2023 in various national jump rope competitions and has been honoured as an outstanding national coach.

Liu Xinzhu, aged 14, secured three championships in the 12-15 age group at the 2021 World Jump Rope Championships, standing out as the youngest participant in her category. In 2022, she and her mother, Kan Qingru, participated in the Asian Jump Rope Championships and were both selected for the Chinese national jump rope team.

The unique story of coach Kan Qingru adds a special touch. At 42, she transitioned from a career in the design industry to picking up the jump rope to accompany her daughter.

In her daughter's eyes, Kan Qingru is not just a mother but also one of her coaches. Their joint participation in the 2021 World Championships resulted in a championship, sparking Kan Qingru's interest.

Subsequently, in the 2022 Asian Championships, both mother and daughter were selected for the national jump rope team, securing two championships. Kan Qingru also obtained titles as a National Coach, National Referee, and National Social Sports Instructor, accumulating 22 championships, two second places, and one third place.

The news of their new record brought excitement to their family. Grandfather Kan Chuanyu expressed pride, emphasizing the significance of their recognition in areas they love and the courage to challenge and prove themselves.

Coach Hou Weidong, referred to as a master by Liu Xinzhu, highlighted the difficulty of their achievement in a mixed-age group and emphasized the rarity of such breakthroughs.

For the triumphant trio, breaking the record marks a new beginning.

Wang Huanan envisions continuing his involvement in jump rope training, aiming to share more knowledge and joy with children.

Liu Xinzhu sees sports as an avenue for embracing challenges and believes she will continue to pursue breakthroughs as she grows.

Kan Qingru harbours a desire to provide free jump rope training in remote areas, fostering a love for sports and life in more children.

As life unfolds, challenges persist. Guinness World Records extends heartfelt wishes for their continued success in their passion.
