"I want to change the game" sings Dua Lipa in her 2020 hit "Future Nostalgia".

Those lyrics became true as the singer and model set the world record for most tickets sold for a livestreamed concert by a solo female artist (current year) with a total of 284,000 tickets sold.

The tickets were to her streamed concert named Studio 2054, in a nod to the globally famous Manhattan disco nightclub Studio 54.

The record-breaking event livestreamed from the Printworks nightclub in Rotherhithe, London, UK.

It supported her second studio album Future Nostalgia, which was released on 27 March 2020, and opened with the track of the same name.

The singer's second album was also followed by a remix, Club Future Nostalgia, released in August 2020 and the reissued Future Nostalgia (Moonlight Edition) in 2021.

Studio 2054 took place on 27 November 2020 and was divided into four acts, structured similarly to a live music video.

Thanks to its online nature the show was streamed worldwide and didn’t suffer from regional boundaries, resulting in a safe and inclusive event.

The reason behind the concert being streamed instead of live was, of course, the restrictions in place throughout 2020 due to Covid-19.

This way, fans from around the world had the opportunity to enjoy Dua Lipa’s new album and performance while staying at home.

Despite the record-breaking number of 284,000 tickets being sold, the official press release reports that the concert gathered over five million views.

Countries around the world hosted the show on free-to-air platforms, meaning a ticket wasn't necessary to tune in, attracting the whopping number of 1.9 million unique log-ins from China and 95,000 from India.

Overall, Studio 2054 reached 150 countries worldwide and was watched by countless fans.

It opened with the title track of the album, "Future Nostalgia", and then proceeded with some of the singer’s most beloved hits, such as "Levitating", "Break My Heart", "Electricity" (featuring Kylie Minogue) and "Don’t Start Now".

But the show didn’t just include her newer songs, her older solo tracks "New Rules" (her first number one in the UK) and "One Kiss" were also performed.

It also featured several special guests, including global superstar Elton John.

As the opener for the third act, the event also featured "Prisoner", Dua Lipa’s duet with Miley Cyrus.

Later on, the singer also performed "Un Día (One Day)". The song, which has a mix of English and Spanish lyrics, features J Balvin, Bad Bunny and Tainy.

Dua Lipa’s fanbase could purchase a regular ticket or a VIP ticket. The latter option also included a short online after-party with DJ and producer The Blessed Madonna.

However, on-demand tickets to enjoy the show were still being sold in the days after, further increasing sales and figures.

The powerhouse pop singer already holds the record for most monthly listeners on Spotify (female), with 64,966,102 monthly listeners as of 28 September 2021.

She is also second in the overall chart for most tickets sold for an online event.

Her performance follows BTS’ 756,000 tickets sold for Bang Bang Con: The Live, which broke the record for the most viewers for a music concert live stream.

Louis Tomlinson also recently revealed his record title for most tickets sold for a livestreamed concert by a solo male artist (current year), which he acquired with the live concert Live From London.
