Have you ever dreamed of being in a destruction derby?

Ever imagined what it would be like to try a and drive a combine harvester around a vertical loop?

Ever wondered what it would be like to drive a lawn mower around a figure of 8 track with 23 school buses all crashing into each other?

These may be very specific (and very dangerous) prospects, but Wreckfest by Bugbear Entertainment and published by THQ Nordic have a videogame that could make them a (virtual) reality.

With realistic damage modelling on all its vehicles, it’s entirely possible to start a race with a normal and whole looking car, but cross the finish line with two wheels missing, the rear bumper dragging along the ground and the bonnet so mangled you can see the engine poking out – which also happens to be on fire.

Guinness World Records have teamed up with THQ Nordic to bring you three new record titles for the FlatOut and Destruction Derby inspired racing, smash-em-up, Wreckfest.

Highest score in a two-minute Deathmatch in Wreckfest

Starting off with a straightforward one.

The challenge is to enter a two-minute demolition deathmatch event and attempt to be the player who smashes up – or ‘Wrecks’ – the most computer-controlled players before the time runs out.

Fastest time to complete a Supervan Last Man Standing event in Wreckfest

Another demolition event, but this time it’s a fastest time to eliminate all other players.

The player can use any vehicle (car, limo or mobile home) but all the AI players are in the three wheeled Supervan.

The Supervans flip really easily so it’s very easy to eliminate them, but there are 23 to eliminate so this challenge is all about finding the most efficient way to do it.

Fastest first place finish in a Lawn Mower verses School Buses Banger Race in Wreckfest

This is a scary one.

This is a traditional race where everyone is driving a long and slow school bus. Everyone except you, who is driving a little sit on lawnmower.

The lawn mower may be much more agile than the school buses, but if you get caught between two as they both start turning, you’ll be squashed flat.

Pro tip: use a first-person camera view for this one.
