Rocky No Hands 2

Rocky Stoutenburgh aka "RockyNoHands" is a legend, especially on Fortnite.

He’s made it into Guinness World Records 2020 and Guinness World Records 2020 Gamer’s Edition for achieving most Victory Royales in Fortnite using a QuadStick mouth-operated joystick and most eliminations in a Fortnite Battle Royale using a QuadStick mouth-operated joystick.

You can see Rocky, "the oral assassin", in action streaming his successes on Twitch and YouTube, playing squads with the rest of his team, the Detroit Gamers, or solo to annihilate the competition.

"Being a part of Twitch is very fun. You get a lot of friends… you never have to play alone - you always have someone to play with or someone to talk to even. Twitch is a really good community to get involved in."

However, his life looked different several years ago.

Rocky was a dedicated and competitive athlete spending his time playing hockey or motorbiking, in addition to enjoying videogames with his younger brother.

That is, until a fall in 2006 led him to become paralysed from the neck down, costing him his job, some of his friends and most of his hobbies.

A few years after his accident, Rocky found his passion for playing videogames again when his brother introduced him to the quadstick, a mouth operated joystick which can be used by individuals who are disabled.

After practicing with the quadstick for some time, Rocky became hooked on gaming again – tapping back into his competitive nature especially through Multi-Player, highly skilled, or Battle Royale games, including PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Fortnite, joining the Twitch community to play with others and livestream the matches.

Rocky explains that the using the quadstick for PC or console games is fairly simple. "It's one joystick with a side tube, three centre tubes on the analog and a lip switch at the bottom and [to play] you just sip or puff on the 4 holes and move the analog or press on the lip switch."

Hours of hard work, practice, and great collaboration from his teammates helped lead to Rocky’s achievements and Guinness World Records titles.

"Getting the recognition from Guinness World Records is actually pretty awesome. I grew up watching the TV show, getting the books, seeing the YouTube channel. I thought, man, I could pull that off or do that many push-ups but once I got hurt, those options were out the window. Years later, getting this is pretty awesome actually. Opening up the book and seeing me in it is going to be pretty sweet."

As of March 2019, he had 509 Victory Royales overall and 11 eliminations during one match alone in Fortnite.

The match that led him to achieve this impressive amount of eliminations by himself spanned nearly 20 minutes and is his favourite and most fun to date.

Rocky doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon. He is looking forward to streaming and playing more games, earning more titles and continuing to inspire people.

"I think I inspire people to do something… When you see me doing something that people don’t think is possible- people start to think that maybe there is something they could do that they didn’t think is possible."
