108 DJs set new record for the most presenters of one radio show

Radio shows with multiple hosts is nothing new, however you’ve probably not heard a programme with 108 hosts.
That’s precisely what happened in Tamil Nadu, India, when Radio Hub PSG Tech and PSG Community Radio 107.8 MHZ set a new record for most radio DJs presenting one radio show simultaneously.
With such a group in limited studio space, they had to be sure to get the organisation just right; each DJ was allotted just one minute to deliver a fact-filled, opinionated speech on a particular social topic for the show titled 'Naalai Namadhe – Be the Change'.
A bit of background on the groups involved: "PSG Community Radio (A Non-Profitable Organization) is the first and foremost community radio of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, endeavours to bridge the gap between ignorance and knowledge of the variety of listeners of Coimbatore through its multifarious shows," said the organisers in their application.
It was members of a group within the station called the Radio Hub who went on to attempt the record.
With this in mind, it’s easy to see why this particular record was such a good fit! It’s an ideal opportunity to touch on a myriad of topics, as well as encouraging a community aspect since the goal of the record is to get as many DJs as possible to participate.
On a more personal note to the Radio Hub, the show was titled as it was in honour of the club’s former president, Dr A.P.J.Abdul Kalam, who was passionate about the group’s core principles.
The attempt itself couldn’t have gone smoother as everyone knew their material and there was a consistent flow from one DJ to the next with each presenter introducing their successor.
The upbeat show lasted 107.8 minutes, to match the frequency of PSG Community Radio.
It has to be said, good spirits in a record attempt can go a long way!
