Guinness World Records has just confirmed that Ekaterina Lisina from Russia is the new title holder for the Longest legs (female).

Her pins are an unparalleled 132.8 cm long for the left leg and 132.2 cm (52.0 in) long for the right leg, as measured in her hometown of Penza, Russia.

As required by the Guinness World Records guidelines, the measurements were taken by independent professionals – a seamstress and doctor – from the heel to the top of the hip.

The 29-year-old from a family of tall people – with her brother measuring 6’ 6”, her father at 6’ 5” and her mother at 6’ 1”, Ekaterina always felt very comfortable about her size at home.

However, she was teased at school. One reason Ekaterina applied to Guinness World Records was because she wants “to be an inspiration to girls who are not very confident.”

Ekaterina has trouble finding trousers that fit her, and find it very awkward squeezing into airplane and car seats. With a shoe size of 47, she says it’s also tricky finding feminine shoes.

Longest legs

Nevertheless, there are also some benefits to having the longest legs in the world.

“I can walk much faster than other people,” she notes.

Her height has also helped her basketball career, a talent that also runs in her family, and she won a bronze medal playing for Russia in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

In spite of her sporting prowess, Ekaterina always wanted to be model – so she gave up playing basketball in order to pursue this dream.

She has now been working as a professional model for over a year, and as a result she’s snapped up a second Guinness World Records title for the Tallest professional model.

She is a towering 205.16 cm (6 ft 8.77 in) tall, to be exact.

“I’m really happy to have the longest legs in the world,” she said during her visit to London last week.

“The first time I heard this news, I was driving a car and I almost crashed it!”

Ekaterina says it “feels amazing” to become a Guinness World Records title holder for not just one, but two record categories, and wishes she applied for them sooner.

She loves the attention she gets for her height and hopes that the added bonus of being a record holder will only increase the positive attention she gets.
