Multiple record-breaking competitive eater Furious Pete (Canada) recently challenged six brave people to attempt the Guinness World Records title Fastest time to drink one litre of lemon juice through a straw, at an event organised by G Fuel energy drink in New York, USA.

The participants were rapper Logic, YouTuber Tommy “FaZe Temperrr” Oliveira, model Brittney Palmer and American UFC Featherweight fighter Dennis "The Menace" Bermudez.

The Menace was fastest in the first effort, but official Guinness World Records adjudicator Casey DeSantis had to disqualify the attempt as Dennis did not follow all of the strict record guidelines.

Five challengers dropped out of the race which left just front-runners Peter "Furious Pete" Czerwinski and The Menace to go head-to-head in a second attempt to see if they could break the standing record of 24.41 seconds.

The 29-year-old mixed martial artist successfully won the title after guzzling the bowl bitter lemon juice – which was not allowed to have any added sugar – in an incredible 22.75 seconds.

Dennis vomited within a few seconds of breaking the record and said: “It sits weird in the gut, for sure”.

This announcement of Dennis’s achievement comes just days before his UFC fight with Rony Jason this Saturday in Salt Lake City, Utah.
