The challenge took place as part of Guinness World Records Day 2011 (16 November) at the gym of Joe Alexander Entertainment Group in Hamburg, Germany.

Official Guinness World Records adjudicator Olaf Kuchenbecker was on hand to count and verify the new record.

Joe's title has since been taken by serial record breaker Ashrita Furman (USA) who managed to catch an incredible 34 pieces of popcorn at the Sri Chimnoy Centre, in New York, New York, USA just one month later.
