Each week here on guinnessworldrecords.com, we’ll be dipping into our extensive video library to bring you a classic piece of record-breaking action.

This week, we take a trip to the California State Capitol Museum in Sacramento, USA, where two very important record holders were introduced to each other on Guinness World Records Day 2007.

The presiding Tallest dog Gibson, a harlequin Great Dane, met Boo Boo, a female Chihuahua who held the title for Smallest dog (height).

Gibson measured 107 cm (42.2 in) tall in 2004.  He worked as a therapy dog but sadly passed away in 2008.

The current title holder for the tallest dog ever is fellow Great Dane Zeus, who measured an intimidating 1.118 m (44 in) tall before he died last year.

In contrast, Boo Boo measured just 10.16 cm (4 in) tall - more than 10 times smaller than Gibson - and weighed 680 g (24 ounce) in 2007.

However, Milly the chihuahua now stands as the reigning smallest dog, measuring a miniscule 9.65 cm (3.8 in) in height.
